The candidacy was open within the period of April 22 to April 30. The nominated were announced on May 2, 2012, the seek was within the period of May 2 to May 5, and the announcement of the final list of the nominated was announced on May 6, 2012.
Under the auspice of Sir Major General Ahmad Abdu Allah, governor of Port Said, and Dr Prof. Emad Abdul Galiel, president of the university, the inauguration of the sportive meeting between Port Said University and the sportive for companies and the sportive for the universities. The inauguration was held in the presence of Dr Prof. Atif Alam el- Din; vice-president for student affairs, Dr Prof. Rashed el-Qssabey; vice-president for postgraduates, Dr Prof. Hosney Ghander; head of the companies sportive , Dr Prof. Sobhey Hasanien, head of the universities sportive , and Dr Prof. Ibrahim Khalaf; dean of the faculty of physical education. Notably to say, the sportive meeting was held in the covered compound of the faculty of physical education in handball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and football. The inauguration took place under the title of:" in love of Egypt."
On behalf of Dr Prof. Emad Abdul Galiel, president of the university, the vice-president, the deans, the faculty staff, the administrative body, and the students we would like to express our deepest condolence on the sad dismiss of Dr Prof. Alaa Ahmad Fayez, president of Ain Shams University. We pray to the almighty Allah to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to all relative to bear this loss.

The inauguration took place in the presence of Dr Prof. Atif Alam el- Din; vice-president for students and educational affairs, Dr Prof. Inas el- Shiekh; vice-president for community services and environmental affairs, and Dr Prof. Rashed el-Qassabey, vice-president for postgraduate studies. The fair was held in the faculty of commerce and organized by the faculty graduates' league.
In the presence of the vice-president of the university, Sir Major General Ahmad Abdu Allah, governor of Port Said, was in the reception of Dr Prof. Emad Abdul Galiel, president of Port Said University, to attend the meeting of the university board. The meeting commenced with a welcome statement by the President of the University welcoming the Governor and thanking his significant attendance. On this occasion, Dr Prof. Emad Abdul Galiel took advantage of the occasion to express how far the university is pleased by the return of Sir Major General as the Governor of Port Said.
